Screeners

During the initial visit with your child, I will complete a series of screeners that evaluate their phonological and phonemic awareness, decoding ability, sight word recognition, letter-sound correspondence, and oral language skills.

This will allow me to get a clear picture of your child’s reading and writing abilities, and what we can continue to grow.

SMART Goals

Based on your child’s results from their initial screener, I will create smart goals that we will work on mastering.

Smart goals are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely.

This ensures that your child’s needs are being met, and they will gain confidence as they start achieving their goals.

Progress Monitoring & Data Tracking

Once we have established your child’s smart goals, we will begin weekly monitoring of their progress.

I utilize curriculum-based measures to monitor progress and track their data utilizing a line graph.

This line graph will be available to you in your child’s google folder.

Lesson Plans + Direct Instruction

In addition to their data tracking graph, you will also find their weekly lesson plans in their google folder.

Each lesson is thoughtfully designed to meet the strands of reading.

These strands include phonological awareness, word recognition, language comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, and writing.
